Canberra, the capital of Australia, is a totally planned city designed to be the political and administrative centre of the Australian Government.
Situated approximately 300km south of Sydney, Canberra is the home of most Government agencies and departments. The population of Canberra is approximately 330,000 with the city acting as a service centre for a broader region of close to 500,000 people.
Canberra has many popular tourist attractions, including the former and current Parliament houses, the National Gallery, National Library and War Memorial of Australia, among many others.
