Brisbane, 7 February 2013 - CBRE Hotels has recruited one of Australia’s leading hospitality professionals Neil Scanlan to further strengthen its national hotel brokerage team.
Mr Scanlan has over 30 years of hospitality experience, including 18 years in senior management roles with global hospitality giant Accor Hotels.
CBRE Hotels Senior Director Wayne Bunz said Mr Scanlan would be an invaluable addition to the team, given his depth of experience and reputation within the industry.
“We have become increasingly active at the top end of the Australian hotel investment market and Neil’s appointment will allow us to further strengthen our position in this sector,” Mr Bunz said.
Mr Scanlan most recently as served Accor’s General Manager, Franchise Hotels. His other roles at Accor have included serving as Regional General Manager, QLD; General Manager Sofitel Brisbane; Regional General Manager NZ and Fiji; General Manager Novotel and Ibis Sydney Olympic Park and General Manager Mercure Resort Surfers Paradise.
In his new role he will be based in CBRE’s Brisbane CBRE office at Waterfront Place.
CBRE Hotels is currently marketing some of the most recognisable tourism assets in the country, including Daydream Island Resort & Spa.
Mr Bunz said the Daydream campaign had attracted wide-ranging interest from a number of investors throughout mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore following a roadshow in Asia last week.
This follows the acquisitions last year by Chinese interests of Lindeman Island and Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast.
