Melbourne, 18 February 2014 –The Victorian government has taken out a 10-year lease on a 2,800sqm Green Star office building on the fringe of the Dandenong CBD.
Located at 1-9 Dandenong Street, the three-level building is currently under construction and due for completion in May this year. The Victorian government has leased 2,450sqm of the building, leaving a prime vacant area on the top floor comprising 350sqm.
CBRE’s Richard Height negotiated the lease on behalf of Open Corporation Funds Management.
Mr Height said the building’s sustainability focus was a key factor behind the lease.
“The Victorian government required office accommodation that would achieve a Green Star rating of 3-5 once built, a NABERS rating of 4.5-stars and minimum water rating of 4.0-stars,” Mr Height said.
“This Dandenong premises fits the tenant’s geographical requirements, as well as its sustainability pre-requisites. The developer, Open Corporation, has gone to every effort to accommodate the tenant’s very high standards for internal fitouts,”
Dandenong is located approximately 30km south-east of the Melbourne CBD and has undergone substantial urban renewal in recent years.
