Melbourne, 23 February 2014 – CBRE has expanded its Tasmanian Valuations platform with the appointment of highly experienced property professional Richard Carhart.
Mr Carhart will lead CBRE’s Commercial Valuations activities in Tasmania, based out of Hobart.
The appointment follows CBRE’s recruitment last year of Matthew Cody and Richard Oates to establish a Tasmanian Residential Valuations business.
CBRE Executive Managing Director, Valuation & Advisory Services, Tom Edwards said Mr Carhart would work collaboratively with the Residential division and CBRE’s Institutional Valuations division in Victoria, which was already active in the Tasmanian commercial market.
“Major lenders in Australia are increasingly looking to reduce the number of firms on their valuation panels and are showing a clear preference for organisations that can offer wider geographic coverage and established quality assurance processes,” Mr Edwards said.
“Richard’s recruitment will further build on our service offering in Tasmania and the national coverage we can provide to our clients. Richard is highly credentialed and his extensive experience will add significant value to our overall Valuations business.”
Mr Carhart has over 20 years’ experience in commercial valuations, having gained extensive experience as a qualified valuer in London before relocating to Hobart in 2005.
He joins CBRE after two years as a specialist commercial valuer for Tasmania’s Office of the Valuer General.
