Sydney, 23 February 2014 – Sydney’s south-west continues to position itself as a premier industrial hub, with businesses taking advantage of the area’s competitive rental rates and quality facilities.
CBRE’s Manager, Industrial and Logistics Services, Tom Rourke said industrial properties within the M5 corridor were more competitively priced than inner-city markets and ideally located in close proximity to major arterials.
“Tenants are also looking towards the M5 corridor to secure industrial facilities in closer proximity to Sydney’s expanding satellite CBDs such as Liverpool and Campbelltown,” Mr Rourke explained.
“Escaping congestion in the inner suburbs of Sydney thanks to ongoing residential development is becoming a major priority for businesses, and helping drive this push away from the city.”
Gerard Lighting recently expanded its operations into the Keylink Industrial Estate to support its growing operations in Sydney’s south-west.
The company took out a three-year lease on a 9,192 square metre property within the estate at 395 Pembroke Road, Minto. CBRE negotiated the deal on behalf of vendor Goodman.
“Minto and particularly the Keylink Industrial Estate provided Gerard Lighting with excellent access to major arterial roads, flexibility to accommodate further expansion and close proximity to Macarthur Intermodal Port,” Mr Rourke explained.
CBRE is working on a number of other major listings in the M5 corridor including the leasing of a prominent 12,000 square metre facility in Moorebank and two 5,500 square metre properties in Minto.
“These large scale, highly functional vacancies will only continue to tighten as users look to escape Sydney’s ongoing congestion issues,” Mr Rourke said.
