Sydney, 03 July 2015 – CBRE has continued to expand its Building, Depreciation and Cost Consultancy team with the appointment of two new executives in Sydney and Melbourne.
Simon Freeth has been appointed as a Director, Consultancy, based in Melbourne, while Alastair Cardno has been appointed as Associate Director, Building Consultancy, based in Sydney.
CBRE recently commenced a recruitment drive in order to expand its existing Capital Allowances team and incorporate Building Consultancy and Cost Consultancy services.
He appointments of Mr Cardno and Mr Freeth follow the recruitment of Stewart Cavin as National Director, Building Consultancy, and Martin Buckley as National Director, Cost Consultancy. Mr Cavin and Mr Buckley will both be based in CBRE’s Brisbane office.
CBRE’s Pacific Head of Valuations, Jarrod Frazer, said further appointments would be announced in the near future to build the Building, Depreciation and Cost Consultancy team, under the continued leadership of Neale Scott.
“The decision to expand has been driven by our desire to offer an all-encompassing service to clients,” Mr Frazer said.
“We are facilitating this expansion through strategic recruitment to further strengthen the highly successful platform we have developed in the past 12 months, under Neale’s leadership. The extension of our existing depreciation business will allow us to offer a full suite of transaction and construction cost services across various asset classes and will complement several other existing CBRE business lines.”
The new Building Consultancy team will provide a range of services including vendors technical due diligence’ acquisition technical due diligence, capex forecasting, make good assessments and schedule of condition reports. The Cost Consultancy team will focus on cosst planning, initial reporting and progress drawdowns.
Alastair Cardno – Building Consultancy
Mr Cardno is a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with more than 10 years of industry experience. He has joined CBRE from Napier & Blakely, where he was a Senior Building Consultant, following previous roles with p3Consulting Solutions and Trident Building Consultancy.
Simon Freeth - Building Consultancy
Mr Freeth is joining CBRE from KPMG SGA where he was an Associate Director with responsibility for commercial due diligence, CAPEX reporting, make goods and defects analysis. He was previously Manager of Building Consultancy for SGA Property Consultants.
Stewart Cavin - Building Consultancy
Mr Cavin is a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor with 14 years’ experience in Australia and the UK. He is joining CBRE from Napier & Blakeley where he was a Senior Associate and Queensland Transaction & Asset Advisory Manager.
Martin Buckley - Cost Consultancy
Mr Buckley has 13 years’ experience in the property industry in Ireland, Australia and Asia. A qualified Quantity Surveyor, Mr Buckley is joining CBRE from Altus in Hong Kong, where he had sole responsibility for the company’s operations in both Hong Kong and China including overseeing the Christian Dior store roll out and the Peninsula Hong Kong renovation.
