Perth, 31 August 2015 – The Department of Child Protection has amalgamated its operations into a new East Perth premises in a move that marks one of the largest new leasing deals in Perth this year.
The State Government department has committed to a long term lease on two full floors comprising 3,216sqm at 8 Bennett Street, East Perth.
The fully fitted out office property features an existing open plan workstation fitout and offers views of the Swan River. The deal reflects 46% of the building’s net lettable space (7,060sqm).
CBRE Senior Director, Office Services, Andrew Denny negotiated the lease on behalf of lessor, the trustee for Leonard Walter Buckeridge.
“The tenant was able to consolidate from several locations into one centralised office location,” Mr Denny said.
“A key attraction of the building is the large rectangular floor plates providing for highly efficient workspace ratios.”
“This deal, which represents one of the largest new leasing deals agreed in Perth CBD this year, is evidence of the attractive opportunities presently available for tenants.”
Constructed in 2005, 8 Bennet Street comprises four upper levels of car parking, providing a total of 264 car bays, and four upper floors of office space, all of which offer views of the Swan River.
