Sydney, 18 October 2013 – CBRE professionals have been recognised with two prestigious awards at the API NSW Excellence in Property Awards 2013.
CBRE Senior Property Manager James King was named Young Achiever of the Year while CBRE Agribusiness Director Will Barton received the Valuation Award for his valuation of the Forestry Investment Trust (FIT) portfolio.
James King joined CBRE as an Assistant Property Manager in 2009, whilst completing his final two years of a Bachelor of Property Economics at the University of Technology, Sydney. Within two years of graduating, he was promoted to a Senior Property Manager role. The judges were also impressed with James’ strong commitment to charity work.
CBRE Senior Director, Asset Services, John Derrick said the award was fitting recognition for James’ achievements.
“James’ Property Management skills are of the highest calibre but in addition his level of client service and leadership will I’m sure see him advance to a very senior level in the industry,” Mr Derrick said.
Will Barton was meanwhile recognised for his valuation of the FIT portfolio, comprising some 640 rural properties across Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.
Will was the lead valuer/project manager of the portfolio valuation, secured through a competitive tender process, and was assisted by the broader CBRE Agribusiness valuations team.
CBRE Regional Director, Agribusiness, Danny Thomas said Will had been a significant contributor to the success of CBRE’s Agribusiness division.
“I’m delighted to see Will’s achievements and dedication recognised in successfully steering such a complex assignment, with the FIT valuation being among the largest bespoke valuation assignments to have been carried out in Australia during 2013,” Mr Thomas said.
