Sydney, 19 October 2015 –More than 1,000 CBRE employees have joined forces to raise $250,000 for charity as part of CBRE’s flagship philanthropic event, Walk For A Wish.
CBRE’s sixth annual Walk For A Wish event, held on October 16, raised funds for beyondblue, Starlight Children’s Foundation and UNICEF, taking the event’s fundraising total to more than $1 million since its inception.
Employees from all CBRE offices in Australia took part in the event, walking concurrent 10 kilometres walks through major capital cities. Commercial Real Estate was the supporting sponsor for the event.
CBRE’s President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Ray Pittman commented:
“The ongoing success of this important initiative is testament to what can be achieved when people pull together to unify around one goal,” Mr Pittman said.
“Walk For A Wish provides our staff an opportunity to contribute back in some way while proudly displaying the strong philanthropic spirit that exists within our business.”
In Sydney, the event commenced at Martin Place, travelling through Double Bay and Rushcutters Bay, before finishing at the North Bondi Surf Club.
Representatives from the three charities attended the event, taking the opportunity to address CBRE staff across the country and extend their gratitude for their outstanding fundraising.
A live auction was also held to bolster fundraising, with items including a Brad Haddin signed cricket bat, Choices Flooring gift voucher and Jarryd Haynes 49ers jersey raising an additional $2000.
