Sydney, 7 December 2015 –Two of Australia’s leading office leasing professionals, John Hickey and Mark Lacey, have joined CBRE as the firm continues to strengthen and expand its national Office Services platform.

Mr Hickey and Mr Lacey have extensive experience and have been involved in some of Australia’s most recognised office projects. Most recently, they have both been heavily involved in Barangaroo as key leasing agents on the 270,000sqm International Towers project.

Mr Hickey and Mr Lacey have joined CBRE in the newly created roles of Regional Director – Joint Head of Major Projects Australia with a specific focus on major project leasing assignments.

CBRE’s Pacific President & CEO, Ray Pittman, said; “Recruiting professionals of John and Mark’s calibre highlights our commitment to continuing to employ the top talent in the commercial property industry to ensure that we are providing real advantage for our clients. John and Mark are clearly seen as market leaders and we are delighted they are joining the CBRE platform.”

Mr Hickey has been recruited from Cushman & Wakefield where he was an International Director and Head of Office Leasing for Australia & New Zealand, while Mr Lacey is joining from Colliers International, where he was National Director of the firm’s Office Leasing business.

CBRE Regional Director, Office Services, Andrew Tracey said the appointments followed continued growth in the firm’s Pacific leasing business, with revenue having increased by 50% over the past two years.

“These appointments will add considerable firepower to our national team given the great depth of experience, deep market knowledge and strong relationships John and Mark bring. We are focused on continuing to enhance and grow our Office Service platform and attracting professionals of this calibre will ensure we are extremely well positioned to deliver more outstanding results for our clients as we move into 2016,” Mr Tracey said.

Mr Hickey has over 29 years office leasing experience in the Sydney CBD and has a proven ability to attract significant lease pre-commitments. He has been involved in landmark transactions, including the 60,000sqm lease to Westpac Banking Corporation and the 10,000sqm lease to Gilbert + Tobin at Barangaroo; the 58,000sqm Commonwealth Bank of Australia lease at Darling Walk; and the leases to PricewaterhouseCoopers at both Darling Park and Barangaroo.

Mr Hickey also concluded the sale of 50 Martin Place – Sydney’s largest office transaction in 2012.

Mr Lacey has a similarly strong track record in project leasing, having joined Colliers International in 2007 after eight years as a tenant representative with Grant Samuel. His track record includes repositioning and leasing of 20 Bond Street; 52 Martin Place; 101 Miller Street, North Sydney; and GPT's development of 111 Eagle Street, Brisbane.
