The Aussie Nomads backpackers’ facility at Bowen in Queensland’s Whitsundays Region is to be offered for sale via an Expressions of Interest campaign.
CBRE Hotels’ agent Shane Mullins will steer the campaign, which is expected to attract significant investor interest.
“Aussie Nomads offers an incoming purchaser a secure and diverse income stream from the backpacker workers’ accommodation, bar, bistro and bottleshop,” Mr Mullins said.
“The 1.61ha site also includes a vacant parcel of land with development approval for 22 freestanding cabins for short-term occupancy.”
The existing facility comprises 123 beds in 25 rooms - 15 of which offer access to communal bathroom amenities alongside 10 en-suited rooms.
Mr Mullins noted that the accommodation revenue was underpinned by the strong agricultural output in the Whitsundays Region, which was a key attraction for overseas farmworkers.
“The regional economy is driven by three pillar industries - tourism, agriculture and mining - with Aussies Nomad well placed to benefit from growth in each of these areas,” Mr Mullins said.
“The property has secured valuable farm positions for workers for almost a decade, which has driven income across all areas of the business.”
Expressions of Interest close February 28, 2019 at 3pm (AEST).
