CBRE Agribusiness has been appointed to market the portfolio owned by Adveq Almond Trust 2 (the ‘Trust’), comprising one of the largest almond orchards globally.
Located in Victoria’s Sunraysia region, the opportunity comprises a portfolio of eight properties with a total land area of approximately 20,000ha, of which approximately 12,000ha have been planted to almonds. The portfolio benefits by a long-term lease to Olam Orchards Australia, a subsidiary of Olam International Limited, the second largest grower and marketer of almonds globally.
The Trust consist of a blue-chip consortium of investors including Schroder Adveq, a leading global private equity manager based in Zurich, Switzerland and a subsidiary of Schroders Plc and Danica Pension, one of Denmark’s largest pension funds. The Trustee for the Trust is Laguna Bay Pastoral Company, an Australia based specialist agricultural fund manager.
CBRE Agribusiness Regional Director Danny Thomas said the opportunity was unprecedented in the current market and expected to attract very strong buyer interest.
“It is very rare for an opportunity of such scale to be presented to market, noting the quality of the underlying assets (developed and managed to a high standard) and the quality of the tenant,” Mr Thomas said.
“The long-term lease to Olam Orchards Australia, one of Australia’s leading agricultural companies and one of the largest growers and marketers of almonds globally, will be very attractive to a deep pool of global investors.”
CBRE Agribusiness is inviting offers for the Portfolio by Expression of Interest.
