CBRE Perth unites to show philanthropic spirit

More than 100 staff from CBRE Perth will embrace their philanthropic spirit next month, when they join forces to undertake a major rejuvenation project for not-for-profit-organisation, Rise Network.

Taking place from November 14 – 18, CBRE staff will overhaul the outdoor areas of two Rise Network supported accommodation houses in the Perth Hills - making both a safe and comfortable outdoor environment for its residents.

Rise Network is a Western Australian-based charity organisation providing invaluable community support and services to disadvantaged people. RISE Network offers five core services, providing support to those impacted by mental health issues; people living with disability; aged care services; youth services; and housing support.

CBRE is aiming to raise $38,000 to fund the project, which will include extensive site works, new pathways, wheelchair accessible vegetable garden beds, shaded areas, barbecue areas, fencing and guide rails.

CBRE’s Managing Director, Western Australia, Lloyd Jenkins said CBRE was proud to support such an important cause.

“We are excited to partner with Rise Network on such a valuable project that will help make a positive contribution to the Perth Hills community,” Mr Jenkins said.

“It is amazing what can be achieved when people unify together around one goal and we hope by pulling together as a team, we can support Rise Network to continue its work in the community.”

The project forms part of CBRE’s corporate volunteering program CBRE Cares – an Australian wide annual initiative that sees hundreds of staff take part in a range of charity pursuits.

In 2015, CBRE Perth undertook a major ‘backyard blitz’ project at Serenity Lodge in Rockingham – a residential therapeutic community facility operated by one of WA’s largest alcohol and other drug treatment service, Cyrenian House.

CBRE raised significant funds for the project, which involved a new community garden, revamped courtyard, new playground, fishpond and barbecue area, as well as fruit trees, garden bed and new seating.

Mr Jenkins said CBRE was committed to supporting the WA community.

“CBRE Cares provides our staff an opportunity to contribute back in some way, while proudly displaying the strong philanthropic spirit that exists within our business,” Mr Jenkins said.
