Perth, 9 September 2014 – The new Northbridge Tech Hub in Perth has generated keen tenant interest, with the 452sqm of available space leased to technology accelerator Atomic Sky and digital agencies Clever Starfish, Tinder Box and Fast Hit.
The Tech Hub is a three-level, architecturally designed office building with under croft parking. Situated on the corner of Money Street and Washing Lane, the Northbridge building comprises ground floor offices with two upper levels of shared and individual office suites.
Leasing agent Daniel Johnston of CBRE said the modern, energy efficient design of the 452sqm building had underpinned tenant interest in the available space as had the current demand for co-working opportunities.
“The owner developed the property with the intention of creating an inner city tech hub where separate companies could work in the same space and collaborate,” Mr Johnston said.
“The majority of the building is a co-working environment with smaller private tenancies available. There are also a number of common areas available to all tenants.”
Mr Johnston said the space had generated particularly strong interest from technology and design companies amid signs of higher demand for open plan/co-working environments.
The Northbridge location had been another draw card, Mr Johnston said, with the area becoming more attractive for commercial tenants.
The building’s ground floor of 101sqm has been leased to Clever Starfish, a company that creates websites, e-commerce sites, online WordPress catalogues and e-learning sites for new and existing businesses, in addition to Tinder Box and Fast Hit.
Atomic Sky has meanwhile leased the middle floor and top floors of 351sqm to accommodate its technology accelerator, part of whose offering is the provision of co-working space for the companies it works with. Desks are available on a month-to-month basis at a cost of $600 per desk per month, with occupiers receiving exclusive benefits and networking opportunities. The space is targeted at entrepreneurs, start-ups and independent professionals across a range of fields.
The top floor, in part, comprises dedicated common areas that are available to all tenants on a booking system. This includes a soft meeting room, a large meeting room with green screen video production, printing area and media area and a spacious balcony.
Rents in the building average $385/sqm.
