Danish contemporary café bar Joe & The Juice has expanded its Australian footprint to four stores - highlighting the continued demand from Australian consumers for food and beverage venues offering a balance of entertainment and health.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2002 by CEO Kaspar Basse, Joe & The Juice serves the finest high-quality, natural, and organic ingredients in its freshly prepared juices, shakes, coffee, and sandwiches.
CBRE’s Sam Moloney recently worked with Joe & The Juice’s Thomas Evald, to secure its first store locations in Australia – including a 250 sqm flagship store at 139 Pitt Street, a smaller format store in Barangaroo at 400 Barangaroo Avenue and Sydney Airport’s domestic T1 and T2 terminals.
Mr Moloney said each store was specifically chosen due to the high profile, high impact locations and alignment with the Joe & The Juice ethos. A further expansion plan is now well under way following the success of the first stores.
“CBRE worked closely with Joe & The Juice to devise a strategy for their entry into the Australian market to ensure it aligned with the ‘Joe’ ethos. Each store has to offer a vibrant, contemporary environment and suit a café which embraces the Joe & The Juice culture, community and high quality produce,” Mr Moloney said.
Mr Moloney added; “Pitt Street was an obvious choice, being in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and offering immediate exposure to high pedestrian traffic from surrounding offices, the Mall and Martin Place. Barangaroo, on the other hand, is establishing itself as a key CBD food destination which befits Joe & The Juice’s offering.”
Mr Evald said Joe & The Juice offered a concept which appealed to Australia’s health conscious consumers.
“Australia is an exciting new market for us and has been earmarked for some time due to its prominent café culture. With over 200 stores around the globe, Joe & The Juice makes it easy for customers who like a fast yet healthy lifestyle while still enjoying an authentic and unique brand. Few food and beverage offerings can compete with our bespoke brand,” said Mr Evald.
“We are not about the boring, apathetic ‘what would you like’ coffee and juice pedaling. Joe & The Juice is creating a new generation of Global Citizen. Whether you’ve ordered an espresso in New York or a ginger shot in London, odds are, your juicer is just in from Milano, Stockholm, or California. We encourage employees to see the world, inspiring dreams by operating an exclusive work exchange system. Our staff stay in Joe houses around the globe, and work while exploring one city after another”.
“Our decision to establish a flagship store and expand to Barangaroo came from the success of our first Sydney store at the domestic airport terminal. Australia’s health conscious community has embraced Joe & The Juice and we expect to see major growth Australia wide, with new stores in the pipeline.”
