Adelaide, 14 July 2014 – The final property within the Paroo Pastoral Company aggregation on the Eyre Peninsula has been listed for sale.
Located 550km from Adelaide, abutting Mount Damper Road, “Keynes” covers a total land area of 1,798 hectares, comprising 1,104 hectares of arable land and approximately 897 hectares of planted wheat, including Mace and Axe varieties.
The property also features a homestead complex, shearing shed, sheep yards and sundry machinery shedding with mains power and water connected.
CBRE’s Phil Schell and Chris Holgar have been appointed to sell the Mount Damper property by vendor Paroo Pastoral Company. The freehold land parcel is being offered for sale via Private Treaty as two separate allotments.
Mr Schell said the property represented an exceptional opportunity to acquire a high quality cropping operation in a prime location.
“There has been very good enquiry for land on the Eyre Peninsula particularly in the cropping space and Keynes boasts a variety of land systems that are suited for seasonal and management diversity,” Mr Schell said.
“Furthermore, of additional interest to potential buyers will be the ability to negotiate this year’s crop given the property’s exceptional start to the 2014 cropping season.”
In recent years, cropping at the property has been undertaken using minimum tillage farming practices and GPS guided machinery.
The other four properties in the Paroo Pastoral Company aggregation sold earlier this year, with a gross sales realisation in excess of $3.4 million.
Covering approximately 4,000 hectares, the four properties – Sampson’s, Garryowen, Judy’s and O’Brien’s – sold to separate, local buyers.
