CBRE offices in 15 locations across Asia Pacific will embark on 10 kilometre walks in cities across the region next month, as part of the firm’s flagship charity event, Walk For A Wish.
CBRE Australia has set an ambitious Pacific fundraising target of AU$200,000 for its seventh annual Walk For A Wish, with the event having raised over AU$1 million for local charities in this region since its inception in 2009.
This year, the event will take place on Friday, October 28 and will involve staff walking through major cities across Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney), China (Guangzhou, Shenzhen), Hong Kong, Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington) and Singapore. Approximately 2,000 participants are expected to take part across the region.
For the first time in 2016, Australian staff are being offered the opportunity to choose which charity they wish to raise funds for out of over 2,000 registered organisations.
CBRE’s President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Ray Pittman said this important initiative would unite our staff across the entire APAC region, providing an opportunity to give back to the communities in which they live and work.
“The over $1 million we have raised since Walk For A Wish’s inception in 2010 is a testament to the philanthropic spirit that exists within our company and the power of what can be achieved for our communities when we unite together.”
He added: “Last year we encouraged staff to provide feedback on the charities they would like to support, and as a result of this we are allowing staff to individually choose organisations which they feel personally connected to.”
For the second consecutive year, Commercial Real Estate will be acting as the supporting sponsor for the event.
