Bulky Goods Ltd has let 1,605sqm in Mt Barker Homemaker Centre to Haggle Co – a 15-year old, family-owned Adelaide-based furniture retailer.
With handover on 1 May, 2021, Haggle Co will join other major tenants, including Harvey Norman, Spotlight, Autobarn, BCF, Godfreys and Pets Domain.
CBRE’s Dallas Sears said that this high-profile front tenancy was formerly occupied by Radio Rentals, which vacated the space in early 2019.
Ms Sears said the transaction is reflective of how well furniture and homewares have been trading in Adelaide.
“We have finalised a number of deals in the past 12-months, including Fantastic Furniture which recently opened at Noarlunga Homemaker Centre and is trading extremely well,” she continued.
“In the initial stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, leasing activity slowed in an uncertain market, but activity has definitely returned to the South Australian market – especially for large format retail.”
Adrian Manera, Managing Director of Haggle Co added; “We’re excited to bring the Haggle Co brand to such a dynamic and fast-growing part of Adelaide. As a growing South Australian family-owned business, we feel that our quality and value will be a welcome addition to the hills communities.
