CBRE has secured two new leases at the Sunshine Coast’s Maroochydore Homemaker Centre.
Furniture retailer James Lane has signed a seven-year lease on a 958sqm showroom, while The Custom Sofa Centre has signed a five-year lease on a 446sqm showroom at the 11-55 Maroochy Boulevard centre. These stores mark both retailers’ first Sunshine Coast location.
The Harvey Norman owned and anchored centre spans 32,620sqm and features over 25 tenancies and 900 undercover car parks. In addition to Harvey Norman, the centre features many of Australia’s other leading large format retailers including Nick Scali and Fantastic Furniture.
CBRE Large Format Retail leasing specialists Andrew Brimson and Sam Macgregor negotiated the leases on behalf of centre owner Harvey Norman.
“The Sunshine Coast, and in particular Maroochydore, offers excellent fundamentals for large format retailers,” Mr Brimson commented.
“There has been huge population growth in the region over the last decade, with this trend forecasted to continue for another 20 years at least. To accommodate this influx of people, large numbers of new dwellings are being developed and this is driving continued demand for household goods.”
Mr Macgregor said; “The centre is situated on the doorstep of the Maroochydore City Centre project, a 53-hectare site in the heart of Maroochydore which has been declared a Priority Development Area by the Queensland government and is being transformed into the new and expanded central business district for the Sunshine Coast.”
“Maroochydore Homemaker Centre is the premier destination for home and lifestyle shopping on the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland regions and it is exceptionally well positioned to further benefit from this major development,” added Mr Macgregor.
In addition, major furniture retailer Nick Scali has re-committed to its 1,969sqm tenancy for another five years, further demonstrating the continuing performance of the centre.
