CBRE has moved into its new Brisbane CBD office at Waterfront Place, consolidating its two existing CBD offices and in tandem shifting to Activity Based Working (ABW).
The new office takes up a total of 2800sqm at the renowned tower located at 1 Eagle Street. CBRE is retaining the entire space on level three, as well as taking an additional 1000sqm on level two to integrate its Spring Hill office and accommodate recent growth.
Level two has moved to ABW after the successful implementation at CBRE's Sydney and Melbourne offices. Under the ABW model, CBRE employees will sit in ‘neighbourhoods’, and choose their desk for the day.
Brisbane Managing Director, Flint Davidson, said the new office would allow CBRE to accommodate the continued growth of the Brisbane business.
“As well as taking an additional half level, we are also refreshing our existing space. We spent a great deal of time thinking about what CBRE needs and what type of work environment best reflects our culture. To that end, we’ve integrated lots of new ways to work and we’re investing in a range of new features and technology including standing desks, additional meeting rooms and quiet rooms, more collaborative working spaces, a new breakout area and a fantastic client entertaining zone,” Mr Davidson said.
CBRE utilised the skills of its in house Project Management business line, led by Associate Director Oliver White, to deliver the project from the early briefing through to the successful construction and close out. The project was delivered on time and within budget and achieved the agreed look and feel, technology and quality deliverables that were set out during the briefing stage by the key stakeholders.
“Adding complexity to the project was the requirement to work within the operational CBRE business. This was achieved through careful staging of the construction works and continual communication with the wider business to minimise disruption where possible," Mr White said.
Global architectural firm Woods Bagot designed the new office with a scope to deliver a sophisticated, modern, creative working environment which Mr Davidson believes truly reflects CBRE’s business and the culture, as well as providing an interesting take on the traditional corporate space.About CBRE Group, Inc.
