Brisbane, 13 March 2014- Sky Zone, the creator of the world’s first indoor trampoline park, is opening its first Queensland operation in Brisbane.
Partnering with bowling brand, Strike Bowling, Sky Zone has signed a 3,257sqm lease at a popular retail complex at 544 Kessels Road in MacGregor, QLD. The eight year tenancy comes with a five year option at an annual rent of approximately $460,000 per annum.
Nick Willis from Brisbane CBRE introduced the Kessels Road site to Sky Zone as it had an impressive ceiling height, something that Sky Zone requires for its large trampoline park experience.
“The property was previously being used as an industrial shed at the rear of a large format retail centre housing Petbarn, Forty Winks and Autobarn. The location is ideal as it’s close to Westfield Garden City and has great exposure to Kessels Road. The busy retail centre also has the option for further expansion with an additional 3,000sqm of large format retail space available,” said Mr Willis.
“The site was already appropriately zoned, which has streamlined the application process for Sky Zone allowing them to open quickly.”
Michael Schreiber, CEO of Sky Zone, said they expect to open the park in mid-2014.
“We are excited to be bringing this innovative concept to Brisbane. The trampoline park will feature a 50 trampoline walled open jump court, dodgeball courts, Sky Slam basketball, performance trampolines and a five lane Foam Zone. We are also pleased to incorporate an indoor laser tag and café.”
Sky Zone Alexandria, located in Sydney’s east is currently under development and the company is also negotiating leases on two Melbourne locations in the inner west and south eastern suburbs.
