CBRE staff from 22 offices across Asia Pacific will unite this October to take part in the eighth Walk for a Wish event – the firm’s flagship charity fundraiser.
Approximately 2,000 CBRE employees will walk 10 kilometres in their respective cities across the region on Friday, October 27 to raise funds for various charitable organisations.
Following the success of last year’s event, which raised an incredible $360,000 for charity in Australia and New Zealand, staff will again be given the opportunity to support a cause of their choice. CBRE staff in Australia are hoping to raise $200,000 for charity this year.
At the firm’s Sydney event, TV/radio personality, podcaster and SANE Australia Director, Osher Günsberg will join the post-Walk for a Wish celebrations at the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club.
Mr Günsberg is a strong advocate for mental health research and awareness through his role his as Sane Australia Director, and will share his own experience with mental illness with CBRE staff at the post-walk event.
CBRE’s President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Ray Pittman commented on the firm’s flagship charity event: “After eight successful years, Walk for a Wish has become one of our best opportunities for staff to unite and raise money for those that need it most, and has become an event that truly embodies the community spirit of our staff.”
“We were overwhelmed by the result of last year’s fundraising total of $360,000, including our single largest personal donation ever of $100,000, which shows how passionate our staff are about supporting causes close to their heart. By giving them this choice again, we believe we can make a real difference to the community.”
Since the event’s inception in 2010, CBRE’s Walk for a Wish event has raised over $US1.7 million regionally.
