Tianqi Lithium will relocate its suburban office to Perth’s Forrest Centre as it expands its operations in the rapidly growing lithium sector.
Tianqi Lithium, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese manufacturing company Tianqi Lithium Corp, is currently constructing a lithium hydroxide plant in Kwinana to meet strengthening demand for rechargeable batteries – driven primarily by the electric vehicle and energy storage system industries.
The company’s new CBD office will span 640sqm on level 19 of 221 St Georges Terrace, in the Forrest Centre building.
CBRE’s Andrew Denny negotiated the lease deal on behalf of lessor, YT International, for a net rental of $570 per square metre.
“This lease highlights the continued upward momentum in WA’s resources sector – and its positive impact on Perth’s CBD leasing market. Increasing confidence levels are underpinning tenancy movements to the CBD, with companies taking advantage of the current market to secure a footprint in premium city locations,” Mr Denny said.
Constructed in 1988, the Forrest Centre comprises 21,440sqm of office space over 29 levels, as well conference rooms, tennis court, swimming pool and a professionally managed gym.
