A water aquifer site on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula is being offered to the market.
Located at 950 Lower White Hutt Road, approximately 30km west of Warooka, Lime Kiln Farm is an aquifer site extracting natural alkaline drinking water, which is bottled and sold under the retail brand, PH8.
PH8 currently markets 1.5 million litres of natural alkaline water per year both domestically and abroad, with the property offering potential for up to 85 million litres per annum.
CBRE Agribusiness’ Phil Schell and Jordan Kies have been appointed to sell Lime Kiln Farm and the PH8 business via Registration of Interest closing July 21, 2017.
Mr Schell said Lime Kiln Farm had already received widespread recognition for its unique properties, which was likely to draw strong buyer interest.
“PH8 has been touted as ‘liquid gold’, celebrated for its naturally occurring minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, bicarbonate silica and selenium – and health benefits,” Mr Schell said.
Mr Kies added: “There has already been strong export interest in the product – particularly from China – which will underpin buyer demand from food processing companies, major supermarket chains, wine companies and food and beverage exporters.”
Once covered by ocean, the Yorke Peninsula receives an annual rainfall of approximately 560mm, which is filtered through 38m of dense limestone and resides in a 30m layer of sand. It takes between 12 – 14 months for rainwater to seep through the limestone, producing water with an alkaline pH level of 8.3.
Mr Schell added: “Globally, bottled water exceeded sales for soft drinks and this rare aquifer and business offering is well positioned to capitalise on this strong global market, having recently won a Gold medal at 2016 China International High-End Water Industry Expo.”
