The newest winner of Australia’s iconic Bathurst 1000 motor race, Lee Holdsworth will combine a role with CBRE and racing in the Supercars Championship in 2022.

Mr Holdsworth has joined CBRE’s newly-formed Capital Markets – Petroleum, Oil, Gas and Energy team in Melbourne and will focus on these evolving, alternative asset classes.

In December, Mr Holdsworth won the Bathurst 1000 alongside Chaz Mostert for Holden team Walkinshaw Andretti United.

This year, the veteran of nearly 500 race starts returns to full-time Supercars competition and will drive for Ford outfit Grove Racing in the 13-event season that starts in Sydney in March.

“I’m excited about starting this new chapter of life in commercial real estate with CBRE, and pairing it with my Grove Racing Supercars campaign in 2022,” Mr Holdsworth said.

“It’ll definitely keep me busy this year, but I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and learning the ropes with CBRE, and getting some great results on- and off-track.”

Officially part of CBRE’s Capital Markets – Industrial & Logistics business, Mr Holdsworth will also compliment and work closely with the Advisory & Transaction Services – I&L and Metropolitan Investments teams.

“It’s great to welcome Lee to CBRE as we establish a team in the evolving transactional space of the petroleum, oil, gas and energy sectors,” said Chris O'Brien, CBRE’s Executive Director, Capital Markets – Industrial & Logistics.

“While Lee is a newcomer to property, he brings extensive sector knowledge, contacts and relationships from his 20-year motorsport career, and knows all about the importance of teamwork within a professional and results-driven environment.”
