CBRE is delighted to announce Taylor Hopping as the recipient of the 2022 CBRE Scholarship for Women in Property at Western Sydney University.

Established in 2020, the scholarship is available to WSU students studying a Bachelor of Business (Property), providing financial and mentoring support to a female student forging their property career path.

Ms Hopping is in the first year of a double Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws degree at WSU.

CBRE NSW Executive Managing Director Andrew Roy congratulated Ms Hopping on becoming the latest winner of the scholarship.

“We’re proud to have partnered with WSU for a number of years, including through the CBRE Scholarship for Women in Property,” Mr Roy said.

“It’s a privilege to create opportunities to help the next generation of property professionals, like Taylor, especially as we all strive for gender equality in the industry.

“Taylor’s passion for property shines through and we’re excited to support her first steps in the industry through this scholarship.”

Having grown up in Parramatta in housing commission units, Ms Hopping drove past WSU on her way to and from school and is now also a member of its Women in Business Club and Law Association.

“Growing up, I saw the university as huge and scary, but I was fond of its diverse and multicultural atmosphere and focus on serving the communities of Western Sydney,” Ms Hopping said.

“I have admired the property sector and its ability to give families a foundation to grow and love, and my passion for property is built on my own background, and wanting to buy and sell my own properties one day.

“I want to combine my double Business and Law degrees to learn property law inside out, as a platform on which to build my career, whether that’s brokering transactions or helping families through settlements.”
