CBRE today announced that Brad Megay, an Army Ranger Veteran, has joined the company’s Philadelphia-area offices. In his new role, Brad will partner with the multifamily capital markets team comprised of Spencer Yablon, John McFadden, Robert Miller, Sam Zell, Michael Jahnle and Samantha Kupersmith.

Brad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Princeton University in 2013, where he was a four-year member of the varsity football team. After graduation, he served in the United States Army for six years as an infantry officer with both the 101st Airborne Division and 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Brad deployed to Afghanistan twice for a total of 14 months and separated from the Army as a Captain.

“We’re thrilled to have Brad join our team,” noted Spencer Yablon. “His experience as a student-athlete at Princeton and as an officer in the Army demonstrates tremendous leadership skills. Once we met with Brad, our team came to a quick consensus that we needed to bring him on-board and we’re confident that he will hit the ground running.”

Over the past two years, CBRE’s multifamily capital markets team has grown rapidly, with the addition of three other colleagues: Sam Zell, Michael Jahnle and Samantha Kupersmith.

“In order to cover the greater Philadelphia market and offer a high-level of service and attention to our clients, we made the strategic decision to aggressively grow our team. We’ve been fortunate to find several very talented people,” Yablon added.

“During my transition out of the Army, my goal was to find a team that embraced the principles that I value the most: leadership, hard work and dedication to excellence,” said Megay. “I knew I had found that as soon as I began communicating with Spencer and the multifamily capital markets group. I am extremely excited to join the CBRE team.”

In 2019, the greater Philadelphia multifamily capital markets team sold 7,229 apartment units totaling nearly $1.4 billion in sales, including two large portfolio transactions on behalf of Lone Star Funds. Currently, the team has nine properties under agreement valued at approximately $130 million with 13 current listings valued at $132 million.
