CBRE Receives Multiple MAXI Awards at ICSC's RECon in Las Vegas

CBRE received multiple MAXI Awards for innovation in marketing during an awards ceremony last night at RECon, the International Council of Shopping Centers’ global retail real estate convention in Las Vegas.

The MAXI Awards, presented annually by ICSC, recognize innovative events, programs and technology that add value to shopping centers and companies across the U.S. Categories are designed to recognize the evolution of the industry, while rewarding creativity and innovation. CBRE had seven finalists and three winners at the event.
Fort Wayne, Indiana
With a combination of marketing creativity and a show from mother nature, CBRE’s property management team at Jefferson Pointe - in Fort Wayne, Indiana, won a gold award in the category of “sales activation” and a silver award in the category of “public relations” for shopping centers of greater than 500,001 sq. ft. The team hosted a “Great American Eclipse Viewing Party” that attracted thousands of shoppers who stayed at the shopping center much longer than the eclipse lasted and garnered much coverage from Chief Meteorologist at WANE TV (CBS), social media, television and print media.
The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes
Maple Grove, Minnesota
The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, located in Maple Grove, Minn., and owned by Prudential Real Estate Investors, won silver in the category of “Sales Activation” for shopping centers of less than 500,000 sq. ft. The CBRE property management team hosted a “Black Friday Pop-Up Taproom” in November that offered a fun and engaging rest stop for shoppers on Black Friday. The one-day pop-up drove an increase of traffic to retailers in comparison to the prior year and attracted media attention as well.
