CBRE was the most awarded firm at both the Dexus Excellence in Agency and Annual REA Excellence Awards, securing seven prestigious trophies at last week’s events.

Now in its 25th year, the annual Dexus awards recognise the outstanding achievements of the real estate community.

Award recipients are recognised for specific leasing transactions or acquisitions that were successfully concluded on behalf of Dexus over the 2018 financial year.

At the Annual REA Excellence Awards, known as the AREAs, CBRE secured three trophies – among them the sought after Commercial Game Changer gong for the development of a Charter Hall real estate app known as Charli.

In all, 21 winners from around the country were honoured at the AREAs for their innovation, service and marketing excellence and community contributions.

Dexus Excellence in Agency

CBRE was recognised for the following achievements:

- 2018 Office Agency of the Year: CBRE Brisbane
- 2018 Industrial Agent of the Year: Todd Grima, Industrial & Logistics, Melbourne
- 2018 Leasing Transaction of the Year: Mark Curtain, Office Leasing, Brisbane
- 2018 Property Transaction of the Year: Neva Courts, Kiran Pillai, Josh Rutman and Lewis Tong for the Dexus acquisition of 32 Flinders Street, Melbourne, for    $87.1m

A further three CBRE finalists were recognised on the night, with Brisbane’s Chris Butters in the running for Office Agent of the Year, Melbourne’s Chris O’Brien a finalist for Property Transaction of the Year and CBRE’s Western Sydney Industrial & Logistics team contesting the Industrial Agency of the Year category.

“We are thrilled that CBRE has been recognised as a market leader across a diverse range of asset classes and geographies at the 25th Dexus Excellence in Agency awards,” said Matt Haddon, CBRE’s Senior Managing Director, Advisory & Transaction Services, Pacific.

“Our leasing and sales teams continue to excel, with an overriding focus on delivering innovative, value-add solutions for clients.”

AREAs

CBRE was the proud recipient of the following awards:

- Game Changer of the Year, Commercial Real Estate: CBRE
- Gold AREA, Commercial Real Estate Agent of the Year: Justin Dowers
- Property Campaign of the Year, Commercial Real Estate: Flagship (BMW Southbank)

CBRE’s Pacific head of Asset Services, Amanda Steele, said the Game Changer win recognised the development of Charli by CBRE’s technology development teams in Australia and India, which has expedited the launch of whole new service offering - CBRE 360 - to create customised apps for building tenants and owners globally.

“Charli is designed to reimagine the delivery of property services, amenities and enablement technologies to attract and retain top talent and foster collaboration and productivity,” Ms Steele said.

“Advanced technical knowledge and best practice were adopted from the outset, with the user experience being top of mind. It’s adoption by Charter Hall highlights the heightened industry focus on amenity and the ability to integrate property services with advanced digital technologies.”

Justin Dowers was meanwhile recognised for his efforts leading and coaching CBRE’s Victorian Retail Investments team over the past 10 years.
