CBRE staged its first Flow and Glow activation in May this year after securing an initial $450,000 government grant in partnership with creative agencies Villa & Villa and Motti & Smith.
The event helped to attract 32,000 people to the Wynyard precinct to attend an extensive program of experiential and hospitality activities, including talks in partnership with TEDxSydney, an artists’ market and art installations, with its success leading to the latest $550,000 grant from the NSW Government’s CBD Revitilisation program.
Sydneysiders who are passionate about sustainability, arts and experiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the next activation on October 13-14. Similar to the first Flow and Glow, the event will be grounded in sustainability and showcase the glowing and vibrant dimensions of Wynyard as a destination where history meets art and hospitality meets entertainment.
It will activate the precinct’s spaces in unexpected ways, working with CBRE’s property partners in the Wynyard neighbourhood, among them Brookfield Properties, Australia Square and The Fullerton Hotel Sydney.
Phil Rowland, CBRE’s Pacific Advisory CEO, said it was in CBRE’s DNA to connect with the community and back local businesses.
“These government grants have given us an opportunity to help revitalise one of the CBD’s key neighbourhoods in a vibrant and creative way. It’s vital that we bring more people back into our CBDs and one way we can do this is by encouraging conversation and connectedness, enriching the lives of the people who live, work, visit and play in our cities.”
Flow and Glow is proudly supported by the NSW Government through the CBDs Revitalisation Program.
Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Alister Henskens said, “The NSW Government’s $50 million CBDs Revitalisation Program is reigniting social connection and economic activity in urban centres across Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, through a range of arts, music, food and beverage and cultural events.”
24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues said, “The success of the first Flow and Glow event really highlighted what we can do with our CBD spaces with proper collaboration between different businesses.
“The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner is committed to revitalising our key urban centres. After a tough time for retail, hospitality and the creative industries, this investment is helping businesses, venues and cultural institutions encourage audiences to reconnect in urban environments, and in the process accelerating economic recovery.”
