CBRE has been named among a prestigious list of finalists for the Diversity Award in the Property Council of Australia’s 2022 National Innovation & Excellence Awards.

The new-for-2022 category recognises and promotes the positive contribution made by organisations that demonstrate a holistic and long-term commitment to diversity within the property industry.

The winners will be announced in a gala ceremony in Sydney in September.

CBRE’s selection as a finalist follows the company’s receipt last year of the Workplace, Diversity and Culture Award at last year’s Australian Property Institute Excellence in Property Awards.

Phil Rowland, CBRE’s Advisory CEO, Australia & New Zealand, commented, “The property industry has a significant role to play in positively impacting the communities, clients, employees, and stakeholders we work with. We’re incredibly proud to have been recognised as a finalist in Diversity Category by the Property Council of Australia – an achievement which reflects the tremendous efforts of our Diversity Equity & Inclusion committee members, senior leadership team and the passionate people within our business who are committed to continually lifting the bar to ensure CBRE’s workplaces are truly inclusive.”

CBRE’s Australian Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy centres around three core diversity pillars: Gender, Reconciliation and LGBTQI+.

Key 2021 business highlights include CBRE’s LGBTQI+ efforts being recognised for a second year running with silver status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI); the endorsement of CBRE’s latest Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan; and the creation of a “Leadership Shadow” plan to prioritise and measure gender representation.
