Following the extended lockdown in New South Wales during 2021, CBRE Research in partnership with Pathzz, has utilised a large sample of visitation data in Sydney’s CBD to provide analytical insights into office visitation during various phases of the pandemic re-opening. We see value in combining real-time visitation and demographic analytics to guide activation strategies for landlords and occupiers.

The data highlights that the reactivation and recovery in terms of people returning to CBD buildings, is much faster than in 2020. This can be attributed to a number of factors, such as occupiers having better prepared plans to bring people back to the office, as well as increased vaccination rates and a greater understanding of the virus.
