Internships Pave the Way for Top Talent

A partnership with the Posse Foundation helped Leo Garcia enjoy three internships at CBRE and secure a full-time position

CBRE's partnership with the Posse Foundation opened the door for Leo Garcia's future career. The program helped him throughout his undergraduate career, opened the door for three internships at CBRE and eventually led to a full-time position. CBRE partners with the Posse Foundation, which identifies, recruits and trains individuals with extraordinary leadership potential.

"The Posse program is important for CBRE to support because there are a lot of young talented individuals who do not have the proper channels guiding them to opportunities such as these," Leo, a Client Services Specialist in the Los Angeles - South Bay market, says. "Posse helps bridge the gap and connects first-generation college students with established reputable institutions like CBRE."

Our partnership with the Posse Foundation is one of the many ways CBRE reaches students from diverse backgrounds who are exploring careers in commercial real estate. Through the CBRE Diversity Internship Program, we bring interns into offices across the United States identified through our partnerships with the Posse Foundation, the Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW) and Future Housing Leaders. And in some cases, interns like Leo stick around after their internships.

"I really enjoy the atmosphere and individuals in CBRE-South Bay," Leo says. "Fortunately, I found excellent mentors in my direct team. I really felt welcomed by management and brokers during my internships, so, it was easy to envision building a career here." And that is what Leo continues to do – build a successful career at CBRE.
