DE&I is embedded in our values

CBRE is at its best when people with different backgrounds and life experiences come together to produce great results for our clients, our company, our community, and each other. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) is embedded in our RISE values—respect, integrity, service and excellence, and fundamental to our organisation. By creating an environment where each individual is valued for who they are, recognised for their contributions and given a chance to grow, we open our business to new perspectives and opportunities.

We’re committed to creating an environment where all our people can bring their whole selves to work and feel valued and respected; are supported to contribute, thrive and achieve their potential; feel a sense of belonging and connectedness; are empowered to create a better world for themselves and others; and genuinely care for each other.

By actively promoting inclusivity, we create respectful, safe relationships and workplaces that strengthen our connection to our employees, clients, suppliers, and the markets we serve. We do this by focusing on:

  • Our Culture: Strengthening our inclusive culture so our people are safe, valued and heard.
  • Our Talent: Increasing the diversity of our workforce through ongoing recruitment, development, and retention initiatives.
  • Our Marketplace: Investing in diverse suppliers and increasing our philanthropic activities to impact the community.

Our Diverse Development Initiatives

  1. Gender Equality

Our commitment to advancing women’s careers has been externally vetted by achieving WORK180 Employer Endorsement. This endorsement highlights our commitment to the careers of all women (including women of colour, women living with disabilities, trans-women, and LGBTQI+ women). We achieved recognition in WORK180’s Top Employers in 2025. This highlights our ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace where all employees can thrive.  Find out more here.

We are deeply committed to reducing the gender pay gap in our business and promoting gender equality both internally and in the sector. Our aspiration is to create a workplace where everyone can thrive. VIEW OUR 2025 GENDER PAY GAP STATEMENT

  2. Property Champions of Change (PCC)

CBRE’s CEO Phil Rowland is the convener of the Property Champions of Change. The group is comprised of 29 member organisations working together to achieve inclusive gender equality across the property industry by 2030. We firmly believe that a long-term focus on achieving inclusive gender equality is critical to achieving our business goals as individual organisations, and collectively as an industry.
  3. First Nations

CBRE champions inclusion for all its employees and strives to have a workforce that reflects the communities we work in and with. We are committed to advancing reconciliation and ensuring that our engagement with all First Nations peoples is respectful and culturally appropriate. Mob Connect, CBRE’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employee network, and the Māori Rōpū Group provide support for First Nations employees and support CBRE to work respectfully and inclusively with and for First Nations employees. In Australia, we provide dedicated candidate support for those applying for roles and buddy programs to help onboard employees who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

    Reconciliation

Our vision is to lead and support reconciliation using our influence and business to contribute to an equitable nation for all. Ensuring our workplace offers opportunities for all employees and that we leverage our place as one of Australia’s largest property services providers to influence, support and promote reconciliation in the property industry.

Reconciliation is a key pillar in our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy, and we are both proud of progress we’ve made over the past few years and excited about the opportunities ahead. As a business, we’ve worked hard to strengthen cultural understanding and awareness through events, leadership immersions and promoting the ways in which we connect and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

    Maori

CBRE embraces the growing need to exhibit knowledge and respect for the cultures that make up Aotearoa. We support all efforts to develop stronger relationships with Māori, and we know that true progress in this sphere can only come from within the hearts of our people.

Our goal is a radical approach for our industry, using Indigenous thinking, with objectives of the Māori Rōpū Group to:

Incorporate Māori kaupapa throughout CBRE, underpinned by Tiriti o Waitangi

Promote and enhance interaction with Māori

Improve awareness and participation within CBRE, the wider industry and beyond

Increase the use and normalisation of Te Reo Māori in our communications

  4. Family Friendly Workplace

Ensuring that parents are supported before, during and after parental leave. Our family friendly policies are reinforced by support for all parents and carers through our Family Hub which includes toolkits with resources, tips and tools for both parents and managers and webinar series for families delivered by Parents at Work. We were first certified as a Family Inclusive Workplace in 2022 and are thrilled to have been certified for a second time from 2024 - 2026.

  5. Building Equality with the LGBTQI+ Community

We are committed to making meaningful changes within our workplaces to support our LGBTQI+ people and foster an inclusive environment. We participate annually in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), which is the definitive national benchmark on workplace inclusion. Since 2020, our LGBTQI+ focus and achievements have been recognised twice with Silver Tier Status and we regained Bronze Tier status in 2023 under a revised submission process.
  6. Accessibility

We are striving to remove barriers and improve the employment prospects of people with disability or long-term health conditions. We partner with the Australian Network on Disability, and our Pacific Workplace Adjustment Policy has established defined processes, which enable an inclusive and non-discriminatory work environment. We encourage you to share any support and adjustments you need to be your best and participate equitably in our recruitment process.

We provide support to respond to individual adjustment needs of existing and potential employees.

    Disability Confident Recruiter

The Australian Network on Disability is Australia’s peak body helping employers to build the confidence and capability to welcome and include people with disability as employees and as customers. We are a ‘Disability Confident Recruiter’, our Talent Acquisition, People and DEI teams have completed AND’s assessment and training program to identify and remove unintended barriers to ensure an inclusive recruitment experience.
DE&I is a company-wide effort and our vision is to enable our people and business partners to thrive by fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where everyone can succeed.
