What are you enjoying about the Program?

The thing I've enjoyed most about the Graduate Program is the exposure to different parts of the business. Being able to rotate through different teams has given me a much broader understanding of commercial real estate and helped me build a strong foundation in the industry. It feels like I'm learning the nuts and bolts of how the business operates, while also gaining insight into how the different service lines work together. I've also really valued the opportunity to meet and work with people across various parts of the business, which has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the program.

What have you learnt?

I've gained a much better understanding of how the property industry operates. Through my rotations, I've been able to develop both technical and interpersonal skills while building confidence through exposure to clients, projects and day-to-day business activities. The program has also helped me better understand the different career paths available within property and where my interests lie.

What do you like about working at CBRE?

The people and culture have been the standout for me. One thing I've noticed is how accessible everyone is, regardless of their seniority. Throughout the program, people have been willing to answer questions and share their experiences. I've also found opportunities like the mentoring program and development workshops incredibly valuable. It's been a great environment to learn, ask questions and gain exposure to different areas of the business.

What are you enjoying about the Program?

The breadth of exposure has been the standout for me. Rotating through Office Leasing, Valuations and Property Management, with Capital Markets coming up next, has given me a foundation that would take years to build in a single role. Each team operates differently, solves different problems and serves different clients. Being able to experience that variety firsthand, rather than just read about it, has accelerated my understanding of commercial real estate in a way I didn't anticipate.

What have you learnt?  

So much, and faster than I expected. Studying property economics gave me the framework, but the rotations have given me the reality. Across my rotations I have picked up technical skills I never would have developed sitting in one team and built real confidence through client interaction and live projects. But probably the biggest thing has been getting a clearer picture of where I want to take my career. The program exposes you to enough of the industry that you start to figure out what genuinely excites you, which is hard to put a price on early in your career.

What do you like about working at CBRE?  

The people, without a doubt. I was not sure what to expect joining a business this size, but everyone has been so approachable and willing to help. Whether it is a quick question between meetings or sitting down to understand how a deal came together, people genuinely take the time. There is a real sense that everyone wants you to do well, and that makes turning up every day pretty easy.
