Family-run Amora Hotels & Resorts has acquired Adelaide’s Hilton Hotel following an on-market campaign which attracted strong interest from domestic and offshore private and institutional investors.

It is the first time the iconic hotel has changed hands in more than 30 years.

CBRE Hotels’ Michael Simpson, Vasso Zographou, Tom Gibson and Nick Hill negotiated the sale on behalf of the vendor, 233 Victoria Square Hotel Pty Ltd.

Amora Hotels & Resorts is a prominent family-run hospitality group operating a range of high-quality hotel properties across Australia and Thailand. The group manages several luxurious hotels, including the award-winning Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney.

Owner of Amora Hotels & Resorts Earp Siriphatrawan said, “We are delighted to welcome the iconic Hilton Adelaide into the Amora Hotels & Resorts portfolio, marking a significant milestone in our expansion strategy. This acquisition aligns with our vision of establishing a strong presence in key Australian cities while delivering world-class hospitality experiences. Adelaide, with its vibrant tourism and business landscape, presents an exciting opportunity for growth. This addition will bring immense value to our guests, stakeholders, and the broader Amora community.

One of Adelaide’s most famous hotels, the Hilton Adelaide is located at 233 Victoria Square, in the heart of the city’s entertainment, dining, shopping, and business precincts. The five-star hotel is close to attractions including Adelaide Central Market, Chinatown, and the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

CBRE’s Michael Simpson said, “The sale of this flagship five-star asset, represents a truly generational acquisition of an institutional-grade hotel in one of Australia’s thriving markets, which has been supported by a rich pipeline of private and public infrastructure projects.

“Following the recent completion of the $2.3 billion Royal Adelaide Hospital, $500 million Australian Bragg Centre and $450 million Central Market redevelopment, further notable projects will include Government funded innovation districts and defense projects which are expected to further drive corporate and event demand,” Mr Simpson added.

The hotel occupies a 3,556sqm site with 377 guest rooms, 20 conference and meeting rooms, a business lounge, tennis court, gymnasium and swimming pool. The hotel features high-quality food and beverage offerings COAL Cellar + Grill and The Collins Bar.

The property is managed by Hilton Hotels of Australia Pty Ltd.
