CBRE wins two prestigious titles at the RICS Australia Awards

CBRE's Property Management division has secured two sought-after gongs at the RICS Australia Awards 2024.

CBRE’s national ISPT team was named Property Management Team of the Year, while ESG Director Abi Balakumar secured the Emerging Achiever of the Year title at last night’s Melbourne awards ceremony.

CBRE’s Property Management team for Mount Pleasant, a 22,500 sqm shopping destination in Queensland, was also highly commended at the awards, which showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction, and infrastructure.

CBRE’s Executive Director of Property Management Natalie Slessor attributed the award wins to the business’s client partnership approach.

“These awards are a celebration of that collaboration, and we share these accolades with our customers with real pride,” Ms Slessor said.

“The future of property management is certainly bright when smart, creative and driven people work together to create some of the region’s most vibrant and valued assets with such passion. Thank you to ISPT for giving us the platform to explore new ways of adding value.”

Together, ISPT and CBRE deliver comprehensive property management services including building operations, property accounting, experience services, procurement services and technology for over 120 assets in six Australian states and territories.

In the individual RICS categories, Mr Balakumar was recognised for spearheading strategies to bolster the impact of operations at CBRE’s managed properties.

“Abi is such a lighthouse in our industry and is a beacon for how we can simply and powerfully make a meaningful impact to the ESG challenges facing the whole property sector. We’re incredibly lucky to have him in the CBRE family and can’t wait to see how far his potential can take our team,” Ms Slessor said.

Two additional CBRE Property Management teams were finalists in the Property Management Team category.

CBRE was also a finalist for Real Estate Advisory Team of the Year, with CBRE’s North Sydney Managing Director Rachael Vincent a finalist for the Woman of the Built Environment Award.
