Give Me 5 silent auction wins industry recognition

The Give Me 5 silent art auction campaign at the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre has won the 2024 Excellence in Community Engagement Award at the Property Council of Australia’s annual Queensland Retail Awards.

The initiative was driven by CBRE’s Sunshine Coast Retail Property Management team and Marketing Manager Rebecca Gill.

The Harvey Norman-owned centre hosts the silent auction every year in June as part of a broader Give Me 5 Fundraiser which has raised more than $7 million for healthcare services on the Sunshine Coast since 1999.

This year’s artworks raised $18,500 – more than double what was raised in 2023.

The award Judges noted, “By supporting a well-established cause and building on momentum from previous years, the event raised much needed funds for family health services while boosting traffic and sales, underscoring the Centre’s dedication to both fundraising and community impact.”

CBRE’s Head of Retail and Property Management Sheree Griff said, “I am so proud of our team’s passion and commitment to their community and the expertise they deliver every day in partnerships with our valued retail clients. I’d also like to thank our valued client Harvey Norman for their ongoing commitment to our teams in supporting the local community.”

CBRE were also finalists in the Excellence in Marketing Award category for the ‘Hide and Sea’ campaign at Brown Plains Homemaker centre and the ‘Shop, Support and Win’ program at the Gladstone Centre Plaza.

Administration Manager Jody Torrens was a finalist in the Emerging Retail Property Professional category.
