CBRE has further bolstered its Investor Portfolio Management (IPM) capabilities in Australia and New Zealand with the appointment of Joel Rauer.

In his new role as Director – IPM, Mr Rauer will support the facilities management of a 250-site portfolio owned by leading real asset manager ESR.

ESR recently appointed CBRE to a five-year FM contract, which involves most of its Australian assets - predominantly industrial & logistics properties in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

In tandem, Mr Rauer has relocated from Melbourne to Sydney and transitioned from CBRE’s Property Management Local division to its Investor Portfolio Management team to steer the ESR account.

CBRE’s Pacific Head of Property Management James King said the appointment highlighted CBRE’s continued investment in its leadership team to enhance portfolio performance, client partnerships and operational excellence.

“Joel has a strong track record across complex property portfolios, with deep experience in national property account management, service delivery, financial performance, optimisation and stakeholder management,” Mr King said.

“His appointment strengthens our ability to deliver consistently high performing outcomes for ESR across the Pacific region. His operational grounding, collaborative approach and client-focused mindset align strongly with the needs of one of our key clients.”

Mr Rauer said he was excited by the opportunity to contribute to ESR’s customer-focused strategy through CBRE’s IPM team.

“The IPM business provides a unique opportunity to align operational execution with strategic portfolio direction for our national clients. I look forward to partnering closely with the ESR business to support the group’s Pacific-wide property objectives,” Mr Rauer added.
